040 The Ketogenic Diet with Stephanie Person

Stephanie educated herself about the ketogenic diet after her Mother was diagnosed with a terminal glioblastoma brain tumour, which gave her 6 months to live prompting Stephanie to take an aggressive approach to slow cancer growth. After dramatically lowering her Mother’s carbohydrate intake and raising her dietary fats the cancer growth stopped, and now she is in her 7th year of being cancer free! After her Mother’s cancer remission from a low carb high fat diet Stephanie applied the same nutritional ketosis principles on herself with incredible health improvements. After her own ketogenic transformation she then I advised a low carb high fat diet to close friends. The success stories continued so she started advising her personal training clients to go on a low carb high fat diet with even more success.

Ruth graduated from Edinburgh University after having read Biochemistry for her undergraduate degree. Ruth has always been interested in food, both from a foodie point of view, but also the biological underpinnings of how food can bring both health and disease. She decided to merge her two passions together, food and biochemistry, and went for a Masters in Public Health Nutrition at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Ruth is currently a nutritionist at Natural Ketosis, who help people to better their health by changing their diet and lifestyle by following a low sugar low starch approach.

Tim DiFrancesco, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS, AQx CMT or “Grass-Fed Tim” as he’s now known, graduated from Endicott College in 2003 with his Bachelor’s degree in science/athletic training. Tim then went on to the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006.
In 2007, Tim co-founded TD Athletes Edge, LLC. TD Athletes Edge, LLC offering a systematic, results-driven approach to performance training and rehabilitation. Tim spent two seasons as the Head Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA-Developmental League between 2009-2011. In December of 2011 he was named the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Tim has a passion for working with athletes and patients of all levels to help them achieve their goals and reach their performance potential.

Peter is a world renowned sports medicine clinician and researcher. He has recently been Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science at Liverpool Football Club and is currently Team Doctor for the Australian cricket team.
Peter is Associate Professor in Sports Medicine at the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne. He has served two terms as President of the Australian College of Sports Physicians during which time he was instrumental in the establishment of a specialist level training program in Australia for sports medicine physicians.
